 Answer the following 10 questions. Use one worded answers or sentences where appropriate.

  1. Describe the tempo.

  2. What is the time signature?

  3. Which instrumental family plays this excerpt?

  4. Name the solo instrument.

  5. From which period is this excerpt taken? Choose from the following -  Renaissance, Baroque,  Classical, Romantic or 20th century.  

  6. Give two reasons for your answer to question No.4.

  7. At the end of the first phrase - a) describe how the dynamics are treated, b) name which ornament is being used, and c) describe the cadence.                 

  8. What is the name given to the melodic/harmonic device being used at the end of the excerpt?

  9. What happens to the key at the end? Does it - a) remain the same, b) fall, or c) rise?       

  10. List three ways in which the music reflects the happy, cheerful mood of the song?
